Atari announced earlier today that it will be acquiring Digital Eclipse in the coming days. The terms according to the press release are for US$6.5 million to be split between $4 million in cash and $2.5 million in Atari shares. Additionally, there's a remaining earn-out of up to $13.5 million to be paid out in cash based on how well Digital Eclipse performs over the next ten years. Some of the recent projects that Digital Eclipse has worked on include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, the Mega Man Legacy Collection, and, not surprisingly, Atari 50: The Anniversary Collection as well. Digital Eclipse joins Nightdive Studios who were acquired in May of this year. You can see the full press release here: Atari enters into an agreement to acquire Digital Eclipse (globenewswire.com)
