In a bit of shocking news today, it's been announced that Charles Martinet is stepping down as the voice of Mario (and Luigi, Wario, etc.) starting with the upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Instead, he will become the Mario Ambassador, a brand-new position Nintendo has created. What this actually means is still up in the air currently. Charles Martinet has been the voice of Mario since Mario Teaches Typing back in 1992 though many likely didn't hear him until 1996's Super Mario 64.
