It was announced today that Epic Games will be acquiring Bandcamp, the music community and storefront. According to Ethan Diamond, Bandcamp's CEO, it'll be business as usual as Bandcamp will still be independent and continue on as a standalone market and music community. In fact, in his statement here he says that it won't change much from how they have been operating. In a time where lots of gaming studios have been scooped up, this seems like an odd acquisition for a gaming company to make, but it'll be interesting to see how this shapes up.
