With the success of the Super Mario Bros. movie, it was only a matter of time before Nintendo announced their next film. Today is that day where Nintendo has announced that they are working on a live action film based on The Legend of Zelda. You can see a part of the official press release above. The movie will be produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad and directed by Wes Ball with financing from Nintendo and Sony Pictures. Avi Arad you may already know as producer for many of Marvel's movies including the recent Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Wes Ball is known for The Maze Runner trilogy and the upcoming Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
