Just to get it out of the way first, the follow up to the Nintendo Switch will be out June 5th, both as a standalone console and as a bundle with the new Mario Kart World. That's right, the Mario Kart we saw previously is a launch title. More will be coming about that game on April 17th, but till then here's some info they did show:
-Vehicles transform
-Wall jumping
-Twenty-four drivers per race
-Between races you can drive across the game world and some modes encourage this
Back to the system. The C button on the JoyCon 2 is part of a brand-new feature called GameChat. It's exactly like it sounds where you can do audio or video chat with your friends who have Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions. Video can be done with the brand-new Nintendo Switch 2 Camera. Mic is built into the Switch itself.
New feature GameShare allows four people to play compatible games on their systems with only one purchased copy of the game. Usable local or online.
Some hardware specs next. Screen is 7.9 inches, but console is the same thickness as before. 1080p LCD with HDR supported. Can play up to 120FPS. JoyCon 2 is magnetic with bigger SL/SR buttons and longer control sticks. They also both double as mice. 3D audio is supported. 256gb internal storage and micro–SD EXPRESS cards are required if you want more storage. New dock comes with a fan built in and can support up to 4K. A new game called Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour can be purchased to learn more about the system. Cartridges are now red. No surprise there is a new Pro controller. This one comes with an audio jack, C button, and two programmable buttons on the grip.
They announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 can play three types of games.

The last one is new information. Some Switch games will have paid upgrades that will allow them to take advantage of some of the new system features. In some cases, you'll get new story content or features as well. Confirmed games with upgrades so far include Mario Pary Jamboree, Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Pokémon Z-A. Side note, Metroid will support up to 4K and 60fps with this upgrade version.
Games available at launch include: Split Fiction, Hogwarts Legacy, Hitman World of Assassination, Bravely Default Flying Fairy Remaster, Yakuza 0 Director's Cut, and deltarune just to name a few. Games out later in the year include Borderlands 4, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4, and Elden Ring. Oh yeah, can't forget the follow up to Daemon X Machina will be out September 5th as well.
Completely brand-new games revealed include James Bond (no real details yet), Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, The Duskbloods (by FromSoft and Switch 2 exclusive), Kirby Air Riders (with Sakurai directing), and Donkey Kong Bananza.
And as a one last special thing to call out, Gamecube games are coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 as part of their classics apps. You'll need an Expansion Pass subscription level in order to play it of course, but on day one Soul Caliber 2, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, and F-Zero GX will all be available to play. A wireless GCN controller will also be available.
