Quick Thoughts: Pokémon Legends Arceus

I'm only a few hours into Game Freak's newest Pokémon game, but I am loving what is there so far. It's a sort of mix between Breath of the Wild and Monster Hunter where you pick up quests and prep for them in the hub area before selecting the open world region that you want to run around in and explore. Each region has basecamps that you can use for crafting items, recovering health, and swapping out your team. There are also different times of day you can set at the camp which will affect the Pokémon spawns. Some other things that I've noticed.

-If your entire team faints you don't blackout. You just get kicked out of the battle where you can run away to heal up. You will blackout if the Pokémon attacks you enough, however.

-Your trainer can run around while your Pokémon are battling. It doesn't do anything, but it is funny to see.

-There's a special tutor you can pay to teach your Pokémon special moves that it can't normally learn.

-In the same vein, your Pokémon can only have four moves equipped at a time, however, you can freely swap between any learned move in the menu screen.

-Pokémon that are ready to evolve wait for you to approve it.

-Renaming your Pokémon is also done directly in the menu.

I'm sure there's lots more cool things that I haven't seen yet, but this game is definitely a nice change of pace from the usual Pokémon titles.
